What is this service?

Pectus Care with Fiona offers specialist remote consultations and access to vacuum bell therapy for people living with pectus excavatum — a condition where the chest wall grows inward, creating a sunken appearance.

Treatment for pectus excavatum isn't consistently available across the NHS. If you've been told there's no local service, or you've been waiting a long time for support, this service is here to help.

All appointments take place online, and vacuum bell devices are sourced directly from Klobe — the same trusted supplier used within the NHS — at a reduced cost, with no third-party mark-up.

  • Remote consultations

Expert orthotics appointments delivered online. Access specialist guidance from home, without the need to travel.

  • Vacuum bell therapy

Evidence-based, non-surgical treatment for pectus excavatum, supported by personalised specialist guidance throughout.

  • Accessible pricing

Specialist care should be available to everyone. Pricing information coming soon.

Who is this for?

This service is for children, teenagers and adults who have been diagnosed with pectus excavatum and are looking for specialist support outside of the NHS pathway.

It may be right for you if:

  • Your local NHS trust does not currently offer pectus treatment
  • You've been referred but are facing a long wait
  • You want to explore non-surgical treatment options
  • You're based anywhere in the UK or an English-speaking country

You don't need a GP referral to get in touch, but you will need to have discussed your diagnosis with a doctor at some point.

How It Works

Getting started is straightforward. There is no obligation at any stage.

  1. Fill in a short screening form

Start by completing a brief screening form on this page. It takes just a few minutes and asks for some basic details about you (or your child) and your diagnosis. This helps Fiona understand a little about your situation before getting back to you, and means you won't need to repeat yourself later.

  2. Fiona reviews your form and gets in touch

Fiona will review your screening form and respond within a few working days. At this stage she may ask a few follow-up questions, or send you some information about the service along with a more detailed clinical questionnaire to complete in your own time. There's no obligation to proceed at any point.

  3. Complete the detailed clinical questionnaire

The detailed questionnaire covers the clinical information Fiona needs to confirm that vacuum bell therapy is appropriate and safe for you. You'll complete this online and Fiona will review it before your appointment.

  4. Attend your online appointment

Once Fiona has reviewed your questionnaire, she'll arrange an online appointment with you via Microsoft Teams. Appointments are pricing to be confirmed. During the appointment, Fiona will discuss your diagnosis, explain how the vacuum bell works, answer any questions you have, and talk through what a treatment plan might look like for you.

  5. Receive your treatment plan

If you choose to go ahead, Fiona will put together a personalised treatment plan for you and arrange for a vacuum bell to be ordered from Klobe — the German manufacturer used within the NHS — at a reduced cost. Ongoing support is available as needed — pricing to be confirmed.

There is no obligation at any stage of this process.

About Fiona

Hi, I'm Fiona — a specialist orthotist based in the North East of England, with over 22 years of experience in paediatric orthotics and more than a decade working specifically with pectus deformities.

Throughout my career I've seen first-hand how inconsistent access to pectus treatment can be across the UK. Many people — particularly children and teenagers — are waiting far too long for support through their local NHS trust, or finding that the treatment they need simply isn't available in their area. That postcode lottery is something I've been working to change.

I work alongside NHS England and help support Pectus Matters, a national charity dedicated to raising awareness and improving access to pectus care. But whilst that longer-term work continues, I wanted to offer something practical in the shorter term — a low-cost, accessible service that people can turn to now, wherever they are in the country.

Pectus Care with Fiona offers specialist remote consultations and access to vacuum bell therapy at a reduced cost, sourced directly from Klobe — the same trusted German supplier used within the NHS. My aim is simple: that nobody should miss out on treatment because of where they live or what they can afford.

I'm also a clinical educator and a strong advocate for patient wellbeing. Alongside my clinical work, I'm developing educational video resources in partnership with Pectus Matters, so that even those who aren't yet ready for treatment have access to reliable, medically-informed guidance.
